The NFL Lockout is Officially Over, Dome is Ready

The NFL Lockout is over!! The Vikings are officially back! The dome just had it's roof fixed and will absolutely be ready for people to play in it by the time the preseason rolls around. Now that the Vikings are the only team in to play in the dome. I think it's kind of nice for the dome. It just gets to rest during the summer instead of having to host 81 Twins games like it normally does. The Vikings are back and I can't wait for Adrian Peterson to jump into the seats in the end zone after he scores his first touchdown at the dome.

Update on New Plan for Vikings Stadium

Governor Mark Dayton said that the Minnesota Vikings bill for a stadium in Ramsey county was "incomplete and unsatisfactory."

State and county officials are frustrated that the bill has not been addressed. The bill is to have a stadium that would cost 1.1 billion dollars in Arden Hills. The state is having trouble paying back bonds and the governor thinks it will be hard for the state to help fund a stadium. He said he will call a special legislative session if he likes any of the plans.

Well, it looks like we'll still be at the metrodome for the time being! That's good for the Metrodome, which is on life support, and terrible for the Vikings, because they make no money for their home games.

My Roof is Finally Fixed

The roof of the Metrodome was finally fixed today!

It's been seven long months, but the roof of the Metrodome was finally fixed Wednesday. The roof went up way faster than expected. You know what this means.

The Vikings are one step closer to playing games this year. Sure, the NFL Lockout still needs to be resolved, but at least the Vikings have somewhere to play when the lockout ends. Thank goodness, I was worried there for a second.

And it's still funny to think that when it initially happened that people thought that they were going to be able to play in the Dome only 6 days later. Yeah right!

NFL Lockout Update

So on Friday they decided to take a break with the negotiations and said that they will continue them sometime next week. They better hurry up because Mall of America Field is so lonely these days. It needs to watch Leslie Frazier yell at Tyrell Johnson for totally forgetting his assignment, Jared Allen's sack dance, Adrian Peterson galloping into the end zone, Christian Ponder developing into a Hall of Famer, and Sidney Rice make a miraculous catch (we better sign him).

We're well over a hundred days so I'm getting a little nervous. The good news is that they don't seem like there as far apart anymore. I say there's a good chance they get this deal done.
