It is Officially the end of an era, as the MN Twins hosted a Twins Moving Sale

The MN Twins have finished their season, said goodbye to the Metrodome and are packed their bags to move to Target Field.

Not included in those bags were the items sold in last week's Minnesota Twins Moving Sale. The Twins sold Metrodome signs, memorabilia, jerseys and artwork. As the Twins officially go leave the Metrodome for Target Field the end of an era is here.

No longer will Twin Cities baseball indoors and No longer will there be dome dogs, I'm totally excited about one of these options and completely bummed about the other. You decide which is which.

With 28 years of Metrodome Memorabilia sold and the rest of it packed away it is officially time to say Hello Target Field!

HHH Metrodome gets a new name as Mall of America Field is added to the title

the New Mall of America Field SignThe Dome, Twinkie Town, The Minneapolis Marshmallow.... The Hubert H Humphrey Metrodome goes by lots of names. And now it can add one more, The Mall Of America settled a deal earlier this month to name the HHH Metrdome Field, Mall of America Field. The deal was pushed through and is a partnership with the Minnesota Vikings who are now the only full time tenants at the Dome.

"Branding the field as Mall of America Field represents an opportunity to share our name and image with an even larger nationwide audience," said Maureen Bausch, executive vice president of business development at Mall of America. "It also connects two treasured Minnesota brands - Mall of America and the Minnesota Vikings - which adds value to both companies."

While business exec's agree that this is a good thing for both HHH and the Vikings, in my opinion it will always just be "the Dome" and no matter how many signs are added that will never change... but if it brings in the big bucks, what do I care?

Oh the Memories, the FINAL goodbye to the Dome

The HHH Metrodome is not being torn down, in fact if you wanted you could go there on Sunday to catch a MN Vikings game... but it still feels like a little bit of MN Sports History died on Sunday.

After the Twins final loss to the New York Yankees on Sunday, the HHH Metrodome said goodbye to the Twins. Twins Fans and Players alike all took a final moment to sit in the blue seats and reminisce about the memories that have been made under the dome roof. We all have lots of Minnesota Twins Metrodome Memories, so I won't bore you with mine, but I will share this picture... the empty seats seem sad somehow. Its less than a year until Target Field opens, but a little piece of my MN Twins loving heart will always be at the Metrdome.

Good-bye HHH!

Video Clip of the 163rd Game at the Metrodome

The Minnesota Twins pulled it together in extra innings to win the AL Central Division Championship... What a way to say goodbye (again) to the Metrodome. Below is a video of the winning run, just a warning it came from the upperdeck and its shaky... don't get motion sickness watching this and say I didn't warn you. PS just listen to the crowd, I can't even imagine how loud it was there!
